I need an oil change and I was wondering how do i find out what kind of oil do i need for an acura integra 1997 stick shift with 122,000 miles on it????

I used 10w30 because its hot but you can use 5w30 here’s a link on how to change the oil.

http://www.itr1220.com/oilchange.htm

at this stage your gonna want to go with SLICK 50. it protects your engine and help it performance. slick 50 is the name of the bottle.
If your just looking for the grade your gonna want to go with wd30

5w30 10w30 10w40

does your car use oil between oil changes go with 10w30 uses a lot go with 10w40 does not used oil go with 5w30

any brand is fine…but i recommend these…mobil 1, royal purple, redline, and enos….and yes the other poster is right about the oil…if you burn or lose oil then go to a thicker grade….

go with a non synthetic 5w30 or 0w30 and see if it burns oil on that. If it does move to something like a 10w30 cuz your rings are probably going out like mine. (175k gsr here)

i always get shell brand 10w30 and I’ve yet to seen any problems with my ’95.

my brother said the acura is better but hes just saying that cuz hes a honda guy he has an 09 honda mugen one of 500 in the us i say the subie cause it is awd and it has turbo idk i lik the type r also cause i think they are more reliable

Which car is better at what? Racing? Daily driver? What are you asking? The sti is a great car tons of power n awd makes it a great car but when ?ou start to mod things go south so best bet is leave it stock and it will last forever.

I would take the subaru. My dad owned a subaru for 20+ years and it was running fine till a drunk driver crashed into it and totaled it.

Sti is better. I say it’s better because it’s fast off the start because it’s awd so it gets all the traction it needs. It will help out alot when you modify it and it can actually put the power to the ground. Oh and Acura Type s is front wheel drive so it doesn’t get alot of traction. If you go to youtube to the ones that are supped up they spin 1st and 2nd gear

I have worked many years as a total loss adjuster. I have handled many Honda’s, Acura’s and Subaru total losses.
Subaru will hold its value better then a Honda. Not that its more reliable, but due to the market. There are more Honda’s then Subaru’s on the road. So Subaru’s hold value better, due to scarcity. Don’t get me wrong Subaru builds a really good car. STI was engineered as a rally car for the road. You can get many mods for. But for insurance stand point I would not do this.
98% of people looking for a Honda are not concerned if its a Mugen or not. They just want the reliability, gas saving, and hold value cars, that Honda offers in all its vehicles.
But you will find lots of racers who are looking for a STI, it will just sell faster and hold value as a performance car….
Good luck…

better or faster…? the sti is definitely faster however, the honda has more potential to be faster…

Like others said, better at what? Heres my perspective on things. Type R’s are far too expensive and are huge theft targets. Totally unpractical for a daily driver cuz you will worry about it constantly. A gsr teg is bad enough with attention, I own one. With that said they are amazing cars and cant say enough good things about them. reliable, sorta quick, look nice and have tons of potential while still being able to drive it around all the time (besides theft thing).

Stis are cool cars but their owners seem to always buy the cars on impulse and thrash them before they brake the engine in. Also all the years before 2005 seem pretty jenky and cheap but thats just my opinion. If you want an awd car like this the Evo would be a better choice in my opinion. I used to be a subby lover but they lost their love of the tuner market these days.

Between the two I would get a Ls integra or gsr and save all the rest of the money to put into a turbo kit for 3-6 grand and have a teg that will have 300-550 hp while still being able to drive the car over 100k more miles. Anyways thats my idea on things.

traction control. i think you need to go to the dealership to fix it

tcs is traction control system. in my mustang this is simply a button you can press to switch it back on. ( if its illuminated that means its off) look for a tcs button. or something that resembles traction either in the middle of your console or the left hand side of your steeringwheel

Disconnect the fuel pump, power cable & check for power delivery @ the flange. If no power use small probe & pierce cable till you find the live part, strip it down & swage a new bit of cable in,from there to pump.
If you have power then remove fuel pump & emery paper all around the tank & pump.Reinstall with new mounting bolts..Will have to drain the fuel from tank..Sounds like it could be a bad ground..Hope this helps you..
Good luck..

the EFI main relay is the problem locates under dash

Is there a way to get more than 100k on the car? From after market engines they’ll only give around 30k on the engines… Is there anyway to get more mileage????

Details: Talking about adding jdm engines, Turning Integra into a type r.

dude your a little lost about this stuff huh? most cars even american cars live long passed 100k I had a volvo that made it passed 1 million miles on the original motor.. as for buying a motor swap, could be spelling or gramarical errors but are you saying your only going to get 30k more miles out of a swaped in JDM engine? if so than, no, you could get 200k or more out of it if you take good care of it. as for what I think you mean but did not write. when you buy a jdm motor from japan, It will have between 35,000 and 60,000miles on it already. they exchange them to keep emmisions low some kind of law they have.
you asked"Is there a way to get more than 100k on a car?" I assume you mean miles: as I said expect a lot more miles out of a honda,300k or so is the average. "they only give around 30k" what does that mean? there not giving you miles there selling you a motor with miles on it. as for you third question "get more milage" milage refers to mile per gallon. ask that question seperatly, you’ll get many answers. but I think (i’m mind reading here). that you mean the same thing you asked in your first question. how can you get your engine to last more than 100k ? you have to take good care of it have regular service done dont rev it up with out a load. I.e. keep the Rpms under 2000 unless you in a gear excelerating…. you’ll for get all this before your 16 any way.

The 30k is probably the warranty.
You can get 10 times plus that mileage if you maintain the engine and don’t abuse it.

Don’t believe the hype on low mileage JDM engines. They can put on as many miles as they like as long as the car passes emission testing. Sellers will never tell you how many miles are on the motor. Either they don’t know or they just give an average of the common driver. WTH? Most JDM motors have a lower mileage because they don’t drive as much as we do. Your motor could have 25k or 125k. You will never know.

You will not know if the car was maintained properly (same goes here).

Go to some online japanese car auctions and translate the pages. You will find some cars with over 100k miles (after KM/miles conversion).

yes the integra will last long. the motor will last too. check your mail I just answered this question for you

yes

yes just dont drive it like you stole it every day =)

The motor should outlive the cars body. Just don’t drive it like you stole it. Like the other guy said and make sure the car is well maintained!!!!!

A buddy of mine got 140K out of his civic. I got 396K out of mine!Maintenance is the key for long engine life. Oil changes, timing belts, tune-ups, etc…

Where does the squeak appear to come from?

You should describe when the squeak takes place, there are hundreds of things that could make a squeaking sound. If you give more info you could get an answer

it could be the belt being wet.

my brakes squeaked when i came to a stop because my axle was bent. once i fixed that, the squeaking stopped
